An adventure holiday in Austria during winter is, above all: boundless fun. In the ski areas around our house in Maurach, you can expect other extraordinary activities besides skiing and cross-country skiing. How about snow biking, for example? Hop on a very light “bike” while small skis are strapped to your feet and skate skilfully down the mountain. Snow biking is usually easy to learn and the fun is guaranteed!
Want more action? Then you should try snow kiting. On skis or a snowboard, you can glide down the slope and let yourself be pulled by a kite powered by the wind. Since 2010, the first licensed snow kite school in the region offers beginner and advanced courses for this adventurous trend sport.
If you prefer something that’s a little more relaxing: ice skating – or, especially in the Alps – curling. Whether in Maurach, Pertisau, Achenkirch, or Wiesing: ice rinks and curling rinks attract people from all over.
